Dam Removal

Questa has evaluated and designed two dam removal projects, in addition to numerous challenging waterway restoration sites. We have designed over 25 fish migration barrier improvement/removal projects and numerous bank stability and enhancement projects throughout California, including all of the planning, permitting, and engineering work, in addition to supervising construction.

Project designs have included various techniques to reconstruct the streambed, as well as complete dam, bridge or culvert replacements. Many of these projects also included design of streambank stabilization measures, geomorphic, hydraulic, hydrologic, and sediment transport analyses, geotechnical studies, channel planting and restoration plans, flood control analysis, and public access trail design.
